On today's Zero Limits Podcast I chat with Shaun Kober former infantry sniper from the 5th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment.
Shaun left home at the age of 14, without completing high school, and went into the workforce where he worked as a labourer for many years. In 2003, as a 17-year-old who had been out of home already for a number of years, he was offered a form of scholarship to play rugby in Sydney, Australia. Shaun returned to Darwin, Northern Territory three years later with the intent to join the Australian Army as an infantry soldier and enlisted in March 2006
Shaun a former sniper and decorated soldier who had a six-year stint in the Army until March 2012, including tours to Iraq in 2007, East Timor in 2008 and Afghanistan 2011. He also awarded a “Commendation for Gallantry” for actions under fire in Afghanistan. He has represented Australia in a Defence Force Rugby World Cup, along with many other representative duties, including Captaining both the Northern Territory and Tasmanian rugby teams at National and International tournaments.
Shaun is currently a head strength and conditioning coach in Thailand. Due to this highly regarded position, he has been focussed on preparing high level fighters for bouts in the UFC, Bellator, ONE championship, and other world class combat based organisations
