Ep. 129 Mick F. NSW Police TOU - Kurnell Siege 2012, Lindt Cafe Siege 2014, Taree Siege 2019

On today's Zero Limits Podcast I am joined in the studio for a chat with Mick F. former NSW Police Tactical Operations Unit Operator better know as the TOU. During his 14 plus year career Mick was involved in multiple incidents which includes being the officer involved shooting at the Kurnell siege in 2012. Only two years later Mick was alongside Officer A "Ben" at the Lindt Cafe Siege that was broadcasted live over every media outlet. The Lindt Café siege was a terrorist attack that occurred on 15–16 December 2014 when a lone gunman, Man Haron Monis, held hostage ten customers and eight employees of a Lindt Chocolate Café in the APA Building in Martin Place, Sydney, Australia.

The Sydney siege led to a 16-hour standoff, after which a gunshot was heard from inside and police officers from the Tactical Operations Unit (TOU) stormed the café. Hostage Tori Johnson was killed by Monis and hostage Katrina Dawson was killed by a police bullet ricochet in the subsequent raid. Monis was also killed. Three other hostages and a police officer were injured by police gunfire during the raid. Leaving the TOU fulltime unit in 2016 and moving to the North Coast and returned to general duties policing however in the part time tactical response capability regional NSW he was then involved in the Taree siege where the offender was killed by a tactical police officer. Get ready for the second account of the Lindt Cafe never heard before. Let's GO!
